THE DEAD WEATHER

So, I guess since this is my first blog entry i will blog on my favourite band.  The Dead Weather.
The Dead weather is a collaboration of Jack White from the White Stripes and Alison Mosshart from The Kills, their collaboration is literally both bands style mixed together to form an amazing blend of hard blues rock.  Other band members include Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age and Jack Lawrence of the Raconteurs.  Alison Mosshart is on vocals, Jack White on backup vocals and drums.
Their debut album is called Horehound and I'm waiting in anticipation for their second album to be released.  The album is a rollercoaster ride, not just through the interesting lyrics but through melody and rythym.  To me, it is completely experimental.  You don't find your simple four chords here, its all about pushing the limitations of the instruments, coming up with new ways to use the sounds made.
Their simplicity mixed with complexity can drive any sane person mad or just cool, but for those who are insane, its a beautiful path to a place of peace.
Have a listen, have a feel, it never hurts to try something new.
